Let’s dive in!
SCOTTSDALE SNAPSHOT
Miel de Agave Opens in Scottsdale

If you're craving upscale Mexican food with serious flavor, Miel de Agave just opened their new Scottsdale location at 6107 N Scottsdale Rd and I'm already planning my first visit.
This spot has built a loyal following at their Chandler and Downtown Phoenix locations, and now we get one closer to home. The menu goes way beyond your typical Mexican restaurant with everything from vibrant street tacos and ceviche to premium tomahawk steaks and short rib. Their guacamole and tuna tostadas get rave reviews, and the bar program looks legit.
What's catching my attention is how they blend casual and upscale. You can pop in for tacos dorados at the bar or make it a full date night with the risotto and a nice bottle of wine. The interior design looks stunning based on photos I've seen. Open daily starting at 11am!
Omakasito Dinner at Toro Tonight

Here's one for the foodies who want something really special. Toro at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is offering their "Omakasito" experience, an intimate 12-seat chef's table that blends Japanese omakase with Peruvian flavors.
I went to one of these dinners and it was honestly one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Highly recommended if you're looking to treat yourself or impress someone.
Chef Gage Smit curates a multi-course tasting journey, and you can add on a $49 beverage pairing crafted by their Beverage Director John Wilhelm with cocktails designed to complement each course. The experience runs $149++ and seats fill up fast.
Wine Trail School Supply Drive

The Scottsdale Wine Trail is running a school supply drive for the city's Back-to-School program now through August 31st. Bring a donation to any of the seven participating wineries and you'll get $5 select glasses of wine.
The wineries include Aridus Wine Company, Carlson Creek, LDV Winery, Los Milics Vineyards, Passion Cellars, Salvatore Vineyards, and The Wine Collective of Scottsdale. A great excuse to do some wine tasting while helping local kids start the school year right!
TOGETHER WITH ACP PAINTING
It's Too Hot to Be Outside. Perfect Time to Refresh Your Interior.
If you're like the rest of us right now, you're spending most of your time indoors until October. That makes summer the best time to tackle an interior painting project. New paint on your walls, doors, trim and ceilings can completely transform how your home feels.
I've personally used ACP Painting and had an amazing experience. Russ and his crew were communicative, showed up when they said they would and the finished product was flawless. Bonus points for having toxic-free paint that doesn't smell.
ACP is a veteran owned company run by brothers Russ and Rob Byers, two Army vets who've been in the business for over 20 years with more than 9,000 projects completed across the Valley.
If you've been thinking about refreshing your space this summer, reach out to ACP Painting and tell them Scottsdale Scoop sent you for a 15% discount!
LOCAL BUSINESS OF THE WEEK
Phoenix Wine of Scottsdale

If you haven't checked out Phoenix Wine of Scottsdale, you're missing one of the Valley's best spots to discover your next favorite bottle. This Shea Blvd gem has been serving local wine lovers since 2004, and in 2024 it got a fresh start under new owner Vince Parrott, who's been deep in the Valley's wine scene since 1997.
What I love about this place is the vibe. You can pop in, browse their 900+ wine selection, and actually taste before you buy. Prices compete with (and often beat) the big box stores, but you get real personalized service instead of wandering aisles alone.
Pro tip: hit them up on Wednesdays from 5-8pm for live music while you sip. Pair a glass with some cheese and charcuterie and you've got yourself a low-key perfect evening without the full restaurant commitment.
DATE SPOT OF THE WEEK
Bar Bambino

Hidden inside Élephante , Bar Bambino is the kind of intimate cocktail spot that makes you feel like you've discovered something special.
They're only open Thursday through Sunday starting at 6pm, which somehow makes it feel even more exclusive and worth planning around.
Thursday nights are when you really want to go. They have live jazz that transforms the whole space. There's something about sipping a perfectly crafted cocktail while actual jazz musicians play that makes you forget you're in a strip mall. It’s awesome!
Fair warning: they have a dress code (no graphic tees, hoodies, or baseball caps), so this is definitely a "get dressed up" kind of date. But that's part of what makes it special. You both show up looking good, the music sets the mood, and you're in for a memorable night.
