SCOTTSDALE SNAPSHOT

Grand Opening for Salsitas Tacos Al Carbon

Scottsdale needs more authentic Mexican food. I’ve been saying it for years! Salsitas is already a huge hit in Phoenix and they’re opening their Scottsdale location this weekend, May 31st. Their event goes from 6pm - 9pm to avoid the heat as much as possible. It’s located off Scottsdale Rd and Shea.

There’s going to be 99 cent tacos, a car meet and a chance to win free food. If you want authentic street tacos this place is going to be a staple. Pumped I don’t have to drive all the way to Phoenix anymore to satisfy my taco cravings 🤤

Japanese Steakhouse is Filling the Spot Left by Chauncey Social

This spot will soon be a Japanese restaurant

Big news for North Scottsdale foodies. Something exciting is firing up at the old Chauncey Social space (RIP). I’m especially excited since I live so close to the location and have a void to fill after Chauncey Social shut down.

Kuza is set to open its doors late August or early September 2025 at 17767 N. Scottsdale Road. Based on what I’ve read, it’s going to be Japanese robata-style cooking, meaning dishes grilled over coal right in front of you.

Expect a menu stacked with udon, ramen, sashimi, wagyu, and a lineup of smoky, char-grilled seafood and veggies.

Preston’s Steakhouse Closing

I hate sharing sad news but wanted to share that Preston’s Steakhouse is closing at the end of this month. Definitely a bummer as they were so well received in the community and got a lot of well-earned praise.

Rumor has it that rents were too high. Unfortunately this is becoming a common theme as that same reason forced Sorso Wine Room to close down earlier this year.

DATE SPOT OF THE WEEK

Three Beans Cafe

Small Room, Big Vibe

If you’re an espresso martini lover, this is your spot to see this week. Three Beans cafe has coffee inspired cocktails and a loyal following on IG. Just look at the comments people share on their posts saying they loved everything.

Some drinks people mentioned were the original espresso martini (of course), but also banana bread, mint and pb & j.

Unfortunately they don’t have a website, only an IG so you’ll have to use that as your guide but they’re highly recommended!

LOCAL BUSINESS OF THE WEEK

Scottsdale Charros

If you’ve ever enjoyed the Parada del Sol Parade, you’ve got the Scottsdale Charros to thank. These local legends have been putting on the annual celebration for decades but their work goes way beyond cowboy hats and horses.

The Charros are a nonprofit rooted in service, dedicated to supporting Scottsdale’s youth, education, and community initiatives. From giving scholarships to championing public schools, they’re one of the reasons Scottsdale still feels like a close-knit town, even as we grow.
