SCOTTSDALE SNAPSHOT

Scottsdale Art Week Returns to WestWorld

Scottsdale Art Week is back for its second year at WestWorld with over 120 international galleries filling the massive 120,000-square-foot North Hall.

There’s going to be blue-chip galleries from New York, London, Paris, Amsterdam, and beyond, showcasing everything from contemporary work to Western art to Indigenous art to photography. The fair also features cultural programming in partnership with Phoenix Art Museum, the Heard Museum, and other major institutions.

If you want first access, there's a VIP "First Look" on Thursday, March 19 from 1–6 p.m., with the Opening Night Vernissage running 6–9 p.m. Tickets are available at ScottsdaleArtWeek.com.

Celebrity Wine & Spirits Festival This Weekend

The We-Ko-Pa Celebrity Wine & Spirits Festival is coming to Scottsdale Civic Center this Saturday, March 21st from 1–5 p.m., and it looks like a blast. This is a star-studded afternoon where you can actually rub shoulders with the celebrities behind the bottles.

Headlining the event is actor Joe Mantegna, best known for his long run on Criminal Minds, who'll be pouring samples of his Señor Río Tequila. Country singer Chuck Wicks and his wife Kasi Rosa Wicks are bringing their Melorosa Wines. You'll also find NBA legend Tom Chambers, LPGA champion Cristie Kerr, Yellowstone star Ryan Bingham, and former Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Archie Bradley. If that's not enough, there are virtual seminars with Woody Harrelson and Drew Bledsoe sharing insights into their wine and spirits ventures.

More than 40 celebrity-backed brands will be on hand, so you're sampling everything from wines and tequilas to ready-to-drink cocktails and specialty spirits. General admission is $85 (includes 10 samples, souvenir glass, and access to three seminars), VIP is $105 (add early entry and lounge access), and there's a non-drinker ticket for $15 if you're just there for the celebrity encounters and vibe. Comedy group Middle Aged Mayhem will keep things lively throughout the afternoon. Plus, a portion of proceeds benefit Scottsdale Arts and their community programming.

Wellness Reset Series at Fashion Square

Looking to refresh your routine this spring? Scottsdale Fashion Square is hosting a Wellness Reset Series on the Purple Garage Rooftop starting March 21st. Each event features a 45-minute mat Pilates class, guided breathwork, and a Wellness Village with local brands offering massages, mini facials, tarot readings, matcha, and more.

Sounds like a solid Saturday morning to me. I'm trying to have a wide range of activities, everything from wine to sports to wellness, so please send me events if you see them!

TOGETHER WITH BLUE ZONES PROJECT® SCOTTSDALE

National Walking Day with Blue Zones Project® Scottsdale

April 1st is National Walking Day, and Blue Zones Project® Scottsdale is hosting community walks at six different locations across town throughout the day. Pick a time and spot that works for you, or grab your crew and walk anywhere you like.

These walks are kicking off their regular walking groups (called moais in Okinawa), which continue the following week. Whether you join a group or create your own, it's a simple way to move more and connect with neighbors who share the same goal of living healthier.

Walks start as early as 7:30 AM at the Marshall Way Bridge in Old Town and go until 5:00 PM at Eldorado Park. There's even a Public Art Walking Tour at 10:30 AM starting at the Scottsdale Civic Center if you want to combine culture with your steps.

Registration is free, and they're encouraging everyone to share photos or videos on social media using #bzpscottsdale and #WalkingDay. It's a low-commitment, high-reward way to prioritize your health while meeting people who care about the same things you do!

LOCAL BUSINESS OF THE WEEK

That's Amore Gelato

If you haven't made your way to That's Amore Gelato in North Scottsdale yet, you're seriously missing out. This little gem tucked away on Pinnacle Peak is serving up some of the most authentic Italian gelato in the Valley way more people should be talking about it.

Everything is made fresh in small batches daily with all-natural ingredients, and you can taste the difference. The texture is silky smooth with way less air than regular ice cream, so each scoop is incredibly satisfying. Their Sicilian espresso is the real deal too, perfect for pairing with one of their house-made pastries or cannoli.

The Yelp reviews speak for themselves with people raving about the chocolate raspberry and other flavors. They've got plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, plus you can order online if you want to skip the line.

DATE SPOT OF THE WEEK

The Peacock

DC Ranch has a spot that deserves way more attention for date night. The Peacock sits right in the heart of Market Street and delivers on both food and atmosphere.

The menu leans Mediterranean with a focus on fresh, shareable plates. Their wood-fired pizzas are legit, and the small plates are perfect for splitting while you work through their wine list. I'm partial to ordering a few things and making an evening of it.

The outdoor patio space is awesome. String lights, good music, and that Market Street energy where you can people watch and hang out.
