SCOTTSDALE SNAPSHOT
Royal Palms Hosts Howl-o-ween Dog Contest

Your pups can get in on the Halloween fun at Royal Palms' inaugural Howl-o-ween Dog Costume Contest this Thursday, October 30th from 4-6PM. The contest features separate categories for small and large dogs, plus happy hour specials and shopping from local dog-friendly businesses.
Entry requires just a $10 donation to Almost There Rescue, and you'll need to RSVP in advance. We love events that support local rescues while giving our four-legged friends a chance to show off!
Inaugural Sip, Savor, Shop Festival This Weekend

Arizona's newest fall festival is happening this Saturday, November 1st at Salt River Fields East Lawn, and A Taste of AZ is bringing together over a dozen local restaurants, breweries, and a curated marketplace for their first-ever Sip, Savor, Shop event.
This 21+ festival runs from 1:30-6PM (VIP gets early access at noon) and includes unlimited food samples plus 15 drink tickets for local beer, wine, and craft cocktails. The shopping component adds local vendors for jewelry, hats, and more - perfect for early holiday shopping while you sample your way through Arizona's food scene. I'm excited to see how this new concept plays out!
General admission is $89, VIP is $109, and tickets are expected to sell out.
Tom Lehman Chairs Charity Golf Tournament

Golf legend Tom Lehman will serve as honorary chairman for the Driving Dreams Golf Tournament on November 17th at Arizona Biltmore Golf Club to raise money for Cortney's Place, a Scottsdale nonprofit serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The event runs 10AM-8PM with options from solo golf packages to non-golfer 19th Hole passes. There's also a pre-tournament clinic led by Lehman himself, plus silent and live auctions throughout the day. This is a great way to support a meaningful local cause while enjoying world-class golf.

LOCAL BUSINESS OF THE WEEK
Allora Gelato

I discovered Allora Gelato recently and glad I did! The owners sold everything they owned and spent 1.5 years traveling the world to master authentic gelato-making techniques (amazing life story). I respect the commitment.
The fresh waffle-cone aroma drew me in first (they're gluten-free too!), but what kept me coming back is their commitment to doing things the right way. They use a legendary Cattabriga Effe machine, the same type that revolutionized gelato-making in Italy over a century ago, and source ingredients like Sicilian pistachios and Belgian cacao.
Their story started on the streets of Capri in 2014 when the owner waited in a 60-person line for gelato that completely changed his perspective on what this dessert could be. Now they're bringing that exact experience to Scottsdale at 6990 E Shea Blvd, Suite 106, complete with one new artisanal flavor every month and zero artificial ingredients.
Try their Dark Chocolate or Bali Coconut Sorbet and you'll see why they traveled the world to get this right.
DATE SPOT OF THE WEEK
Outrider Rooftop Lounge

I've been to Outrider Rooftop Lounge a few times now and it's always great when I want actual rooftop views for date night. Located on the seventh floor of the Canopy Hotel, the 180-degree views of Old Town and Camelback Mountain look amazing at sunset.
What I like most is how they keep it simple: fire pits, comfortable seating, and great drinks. The space feels special without the stuffiness that comes with a lot of fancier spots around town.
They focus on local craft brews and cocktails, and the desert-inspired murals add a nice visual touch to the whole experience. Just know they take reservations for 2-hour seatings with a rolling 30-day window, so plan ahead if you want to secure a spot during busy times.
TOGETHER WITH HEY DOLLY SKIN BAR

If you've been dreaming of a skincare experience that feels more like catching up with your bestie than a clinical appointment, let me introduce you to Hey Dolly Skin Bar.
This charming spot brings that perfect balance of expertise and warmth, where the Aesthetician, Emily, actually remembers your name and your skin's quirks from visit to visit. I used the service personally (shout out to skincare) and it was so relaxing!
Their custom facials have become my monthly non-negotiable, and the glow I walk out with has friends asking for my secret. Trust me, your skin will thank you for discovering this local treasure that makes self-care feel like the treat it should be.
Scottsdale Scoop subscribers can get 30% off their first custom facial.
