Chef Matt Carter Opening Dash in McCormick Ranch
Award winning chef Matt Carter and business partner Brian Raab of Broken Plate Hospitality are opening Dash at the southeast corner of Hayden Road and Mountain View this fall. The casual all day restaurant and market will serve coffee, pastries, Roman style pizza and charcoal chicken for McCormick Ranch residents. I'm always excited to see what Carter cooks up next in the neighborhood.
Hotel Adeline Has a Halloween Themed Speakeasy!
Straight Up Speakeasy at Hotel Adeline is turning into a Haunted Hideaway all October, with themed cocktails, moody decor and a 15% drink discount for guests in costume. I’ve been looking for fun October/Halloween themed events to share and loved this one. It's open Monday through Saturday nights, 7pm to midnight. I’ll definitely be in to check it out!
Almost There Rescue Hosts Vanity Fur Gala
This is a fun little event for a good cause. The 6th annual Vanity Fur gala is coming up on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 7pm MST. This will be at the iconic Wrigley Mansion, with swanky evening features cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, live music, auctions and plenty of rescue puppies. General admission tickets are $200 and all proceeds directly benefit Almost There Rescue. Your ticket even includes two drinks while you support local rescue mamas and pups.

Beef Babes
I stumbled across Beef Babes recently and I've been hooked on their snacks. They're making bold beef jerky using 100% U.S.-sourced grass-fed and grass-finished brisket.
Their parent company Americana focuses entirely on supporting American farmers, ranchers and small businesses. The jerky comes from small local farms using low-stress humane practices so you're getting simple ingredients without any mystery chemicals. They're also making apparel like trucker hats and tees if you want to rep the brand.
Worth checking out if you're looking for a solid snack that supports American workers! Plus they’re local and worth sharing :)
DATE SPOT OF THE WEEK
The Salt Cellar
If you're looking for a date spot that feels totally removed from the desert, Salt Cellar Restaurant is worth putting on your radar. You walk down an antique wooden stairway three flights underground into a cozy nautical hideaway that feels like a speakeasy.
The underground atmosphere is pretty cool! It's a splurge-worthy Valley landmark operating since 1971 that makes for a memorable night out. Plus, their reviews are top notch.
