Good morning, Scottsdale. You’re reading Scottsdale Scoop, your insider pass to what’s fun, fresh, and worth checking out around town. Every issue features hand-picked events, local business spotlights, and hidden gems that make our city great..

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! I did my best to round up some spots and activities for dad’s special day in the events section.

Let’s dive in!

SCOTTSDALE SNAPSHOT

Titanic Immersive Experience Opens July 3rd in Old Town

History buffs and date night planners, this one's for you. 'Titanic: An Immersive Voyage' is docking at The Galleria in Old Town Scottsdale starting July 3rd, and it looks like it's going to be quite the experience.

We're talking 360-degree projections, over 100 actual artifacts from the ship, and life-size recreated rooms you can wander through. You'll get to watch the iceberg appear and relive the ship's final moments in an immersive gallery setting. There's also a VR experience available for an additional cost if you really want to go all in.

Scottsdale Creates New Pedestrian-Only Zones

The city has been working on expanding pedestrian-only zones in high-traffic areas, aiming to create safer, more walkable spaces for locals and visitors. That includes clearer restrictions around e-bikes and motorized traffic in certain public park areas.

For those of us who love grabbing coffee and strolling through Old Town on a Saturday morning, this is a welcome shift. Fewer close calls with speeding wheels, more room to wander between shops, patios, and art galleries.

I’ll keep an eye on how these zones evolve over the summer, especially once visitor season ramps back up.

Scottsdale Scoop Dinner Club is Back!

Our dinner club is back and I'm pumped for this one. We're hosting another round on Tuesday, June 24th at 6:30 PM.

If you're new here, the concept is simple. Take a quick personality quiz and we'll match you with 5 compatible strangers for dinner at a local Scottsdale spot. We handle everything. Restaurant selection, reservations, dietary preferences. You just show up.

The restaurant stays a secret until the morning of (that's part of the fun). Conversation starters keep things flowing, and after dinner, all the tables converge at a surprise after-party location to keep the night going.

No pressure, no awkwardness. Just great food, real conversation, and the chance to meet people you'd never cross paths with otherwise. Whether you're new to Scottsdale, a longtime local, flying solo, or bringing a plus one, everyone's welcome.

We've done a few of these now and every single time people leave saying it was one of the best nights they've had in a while. If you missed the last round, don't sit this one out.

LOCAL BUSINESS OF THE WEEK

Sole Sports | Runner's Den

I recently took up running as a new hobby (wish me luck!) and stopped into Sole Sports to get fitted for my first real pair of running shoes. Let me tell you, these guys knocked it out of the park.

The staff was patient, helpful and genuinely invested in making sure I walked out with the right fit. They didn't rush me through the process or push the most expensive option. They asked questions, watched me walk, and took the time to explain why certain shoes would work better for my feet and running style.

What struck me most was that it wasn't just my experience. While I was there, I watched them give the same level of attention to every single customer in the store. That kind of consistency is rare and it's exactly why local businesses like this deserve a shout out.

Sole Sports has been serving the Valley since 2007 with locations in Tempe, Scottsdale, Arcadia, Phoenix and Gilbert. If you're in the market for running shoes, apparel or just some solid advice from people who actually care, these are your people.

DATE SPOT OF THE WEEK

Saint Urban

If you haven't been to Saint Urban yet, put it on your list. This West Coast-inspired wine bar is one of those spots that just gets everything right for a date night.

Their menu is built around shareable small plates and a solid charcuterie and cheese section, so you can graze your way through the evening without overthinking what to order.

The wine program is where they really shine. Over 30 West Coast wines by the glass that rotate regularly, plus Arizona craft beers and a cocktail menu with some creative gin and tonics if wine isn't your thing.

Pro tip: hit their happy hour from 3-6pm daily. $4 beers, $8 wines, $10 cocktails and $6 mini martinis. That's a first date that won't make your wallet cry.

Saint Urban is a Common Ground Culinary spot, the same local restaurant group behind some of the Valley's best neighborhood gems. You can tell they put thought into creating a place that actually feels like somewhere you want to hang out.

TOGETHER WITH BALANCE STUDIO

Celebrate the Start of Summer with Your Scottsdale Neighbors

Balance Studio is hosting an International Day of Yoga celebration on Saturday, June 20th and you're invited. They're kicking off summer solstice weekend a day early with a community gathering that's part yoga, part hangout, part free matcha.

Here's the lineup: a complimentary matcha bar from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, plus a Yogalates class from 11 AM to noon. Whether you're a regular or have never stepped foot in the studio, this one's designed to bring people together.

One fun note: Balance Studio is normally a no-phones-on-the-mat kind of place, but for this event they're making an exception. Photos and videos are welcome, so bring your camera if you want to capture the vibes.

If you haven't checked out this non-heated studio near McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park yet, this is a great excuse to stop by and see what they're all about.
